juicycouture_003_1366.450x675New York fashion week opened on the strength of a few brands that for  more than a decade in some cases,  have been the bread and butter of the Department store business  They are the to go labels for the teens and the young working girl not quite ready to shell out the big bucks that some of the other brands command…So she will maybe buy a pair of Marc Jacobs shoes and a Juicy Couture sun dress…The brand originally started by best buddies L.A. Here are a few of the looks from the Spring Summer collections 2011/2012 of these two young talented Australian designers.  They  both represent a movement in Australian fashion that is increasingly trying to let go of its European roots and references in the process of trying to establish a self referential fashion identity.
