I have greatly admired from a distance the work this man has put out through the years. Three years my senior and a man Peru’ will always be grateful to call their own. I gave my impressions of his work in 1 more and to get an idea of the man and his art link to el mario on this page. I do swear however that when I wrote the review I had no idea he had considered priesthood. So did my Dad at one point; lucky for me he did not go through with it. I on the other hand even when exposed to it during my many years in Catholic schools never really gave it much thought.
It seems Karl Lagerfeld has his hands in everything these days; the new Pop king or (Kaiser) is no longer happy to be a top fashion designer and photographer extraordinaré but not unlike Andy Warhol before him, he is working at changing the face of popular culture: Diet Coke, Teddy Bears and look alike dolls as well as documentaries and short films are all part of his repertoire.
