Daphne Groeneveld is the new Dior Addict

Still in her teens, Dutch model Daphne Groeneveld was discovered in Amsterdam when a woman randomly approached her about starting a career in modeling.  After just one year she had graced the cover of Vogue Paris with Tom Ford, walked in the Valentino, Chanel, and Dior Haute Couture shows in Paris, and received dancing lessons from Madonna for a Miu Miu ad campaign video.  That pretty much took the guessing work out of what to do to make some money and see a bit of the World before its too late and you reach 29….Now ranked 8th in the Models.com’s top 50 models list. She is the new face of Dior. We all know that since Raf Simons took over the house a few months ago the mission has been to get the cow-webs out  the House of Dior and get a new fresh image that would attract a younger well heeled clientèle and with perfumes and cosmetics being such a huge part of the revenue stream it was a no brain when it came to choose the new it model…

So a few days ago, she was shooting the new Dior Addict campaign in Saint-Tropez channeling local legend Brigitte Bardot, looking over her sunnies in a flirty,  ingénue sort of way.
When asked what the sexiest thing is about a being woman was, she replied, ‘It starts with the eyes’. On being one of the biggest models in the world: ‘I’m very lucky to get to meet and work with all these kind, interesting and creative people! I try not to think about the rest. I want to give my best when I’m working. I’m just really happy at this moment.’

On Dior: ‘To me Dior is very luxurious and stands for independent, stylish and modern women!’
On her beauty addictions: ‘The Dior lip balm and DiorShow Iconic mascara!’
On her best beauty tip: ‘Try to sleep as much as possible – I think that’s the best trick.’
On maintaining healthy skin: ‘Clean your face every night, always, not just if you were wearing make up that day – and use a day and night crème to keep your skin nice and soft.’
On nail varnish: ‘I like to wear bright colours, especially in summer. I think it’s a great accessory because you can combine it with every style.’

On the sexiest thing about a woman: ‘I think it starts with the eyes…’
On tricks of the trade picked up from makeup artists: ‘People often ask me that question, but I don’t want to get in trouble for telling secrets!’
