Our skin is one of the most important indicators of our health and well being. It is important to properly care for our skin for our health and beauty, both from the inside and out. One of the basic pillar of good skin care is an effective moisturizer cream which will protect, nourish and repair our skin.

The epidermis,  consists of three layers naturally contains moisture. It is this property that keeps it firm and smooth, and why it is important to regularly use an effective moisturizer cream.

Our skin has the components to rebuild and renew itself. Unfortunately with time these diminish.  Our skin looses its ability to retain moisture. This can be caused by exposure to harsh conditions such as sun, wind, cold, pollution, cigarette smoke, as well as poor nutrition. It is also part of the natural process of aging.

Luckily the right facial cream can help our skin revitalize itself by giving it a boost of nutrients and moisture. But with all the products out there, how can we be sure to choose the right one?

How to choose from the facial creams out there?

First let’s talk about which moisturizing creams not to choose. Most cosmetics, especially cheap ones, are made up of a large amount of mineral oils. Their job is to lubricate the skin, and cosmetic companies love and use them because they are cheap. The most common ones are liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum. Though they do coat the skin, preventing a temporary loss of moisture, they also form a film on our face and body, clogging the pores. This effect completely blocks one of the most important functions of our epidermis, that of getting rid of toxins. In the short term these facial creams can lead to acne breakouts and allergic reactions. In the long term, because the natural oils of our body are stripped, mineral oils will lead to dryness, chapping and premature aging. In the end this will cost you more by creating further skin problems.

Instead of mineral oils, a high quality facial moisturizer cream should have natural oils that nourish without clogging the pores. The best ones are grapeseed oil, which also contains natural vitamin E, jojoba oil and coconut oil.

Most moisturizing creams will feel silky on your skin right after you apply them. The key is to how long this effect lasts. Many common moisturizers, even pricey ones are designed to feel satisfying right at the time of use, but this effect quickly fades. The reason is because many cosmetics contain synthetic ingredients that are just not absorbed by the skin. The cream may contain collagen, whichis an important skin building protein, but if it is present in a synthetic form, your skin is unable to absorb it, and thus not able to use it at all.

The situation is similar with other important ingredients such as vitamin E. If the moisturizer has vitamin E in a synthetic form, very little, if any of it will be absorbed by the skin, and next to nothing will make it to the deeper layers.  Natural Vitamin E on the other hand is an extremely effective ingredient in skincare. It is a very powerful antioxidant, which will fight against the effects of free radicals, UV rays, pollution, poor nutrition and aging. Natural Vitamin E has been shown to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It helps with the fading of scars and the prevention and healing of stretch marks.

Finding both a face and body moisturizer with natural Vitamin E can be very effective in improving the condition of our skin. They key to choosing moisturizing creams is to find products made of high quality natural ingredients. Often you will find that the moisturizers that are truly effective are unknown brands with little or no advertising. The reason is that these companies put their efforts into research and development instead of glossy ads. In the end read the content and don’t be fooled by glitzy brands that don’t deliver what they promise. Here is a company I suggest you look into,  their products are organic natural and effective.http://www.mionegroup.com/

My mum has good skin. So I just briefly took one of her SKII(http://www.geocities.jp/hongkong_skii/index_e.htm) to use, which I assume is a moisturizer. It’s good man I tell you! She gave me a small bottle of eye cream before but the effects weren’t that great and I stopped using. But my mum’s moisturizer is good! I can feel it reacting once I applied it
